What are mnemonics?
Mnemonic words are another form of expression of the plaintext private
key. It was first proposed by the BIP39 proposal, and its purpose is to help
users memorize complex private keys. Mnemonic words are generally
composed of 12, 15, 18, and 21 words. These words are all taken from a
fixed vocabulary, and their generation order is also based on a certain
calculation. Therefore, users do not need to worry that entering 12 words
will generate an address. Anyone who gets your mnemonics can easily
take away your assets.
Therefore, after backing up mnemonics, users must pay attention to three
Use physical media to back up as much as possible, such as copying on
paper with a pen, or using a fire-proof, water-proof and anti-corrosion
"mnemonic secret box". Try not to take screenshots or take photos and
put them in networked devices to prevent hackers from stealing them；
Repeatedly verify whether the backup mnemonic words are correct. Once
one or two words are copied incorrectly, it will bring great difficulties to
the subsequent retrieval of the correct mnemonic words
Keep the backed-up mnemonic words properly and take measures to
prevent theft and loss.
